Ubaldo Santana

Ubaldo Ramón Santana Sequera FMI (born May 16, 1941 in Cagua , Venezuela ) is a Venezuelan religious and emeritus Roman Catholic Archbishop of Maracaibo .

Life

Ubaldo Santana joined the Order of the Sons of the Immaculate Virgin Mary and was ordained a priest on October 12, 1968 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him on April 4, 1990 auxiliary bishop in Caracas and titular bishop of Caeciri . The Archbishop of Caracas, José Alí Cardinal Lebrún Moratinos , donated him episcopal ordination on May 27, 1990 ; Co- consecrators were Domingo Roa Pérez , Archbishop of Maracaibo, and Miguel Antonio Salas Salas CIM , Archbishop of Mérida .

On May 2, 1991, he was appointed Bishop of Ciudad Guayana . On November 11, 2000, he was appointed Archbishop of Maracaibo.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on May 24, 2018.
