The Roman Catholic Church in Venezuela has 24,815,000 members, or 87.82% of the population.

Divided into nine church provinces with 33 (arch) dioceses, four apostolic vicariats and a military ordinariate also belong to the bishops' conference. The oldest diocese is the Archdiocese of Caracas, founded in 1531, followed by the Archdiocese of Mérida in 1778 and today's Archdiocese of Ciudad Bolívar in 1790.

1,493 diocesan priests, 1,064 religious priests and 3,775 religious sisters live and work in the country's 1,256 parishes.
