The Roman Catholic Diocese of Barinas ( lat. : Dioecesis Barinensis , span. : Diócesis de Barinas ) is an in Venezuela situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Barinas . It includes the state of Barinas .

history

Pope Paul VI founded the diocese on July 23, 1965 with the Apostolic Constitution Apostolicum munus from territories of the Diocese of Calabozo and the Archdiocese of Mérida , to which it was subordinated as a suffragan diocese.

On December 3, 2015, there were territorial shares for the establishment of the diocese Guasdualito .
