The Apostolic Vicariate Caroní ( lat. : Apostolicus Vicariatus Caronensis , span. : Vicariato Apostolico de Caroní ) is a state of Bolívar in Venezuela situated Roman Catholic Apostolic Vicariate with headquarters in Santa Elena de Uairen , which also administrative center of the district Gran Sabana is.
history
The Apostolic Vicariate Caroní was on March 4, 1922 by Pope Pius XI. built from cessions of territory of the diocese of Santo Tomás de Guayana . On July 30, 1954, the Vicariate Apostolic Caroní gave parts of its territory to the establishment of the Vicariate Apostolic Tucupita .
