The Bistum Guanare ( lat. : Dioecesis Guanarensis ) is an in Venezuela preferred Roman Catholic diocese based in Guanare . It covers part of the state of Portuguesa .

history

Pope Pius XII founded the diocese on June 7, 1954 with the Apostolic Constitution Ex quo tempore from territories of the dioceses of Calabozo and Barquisimeto .

On December 27, 2002 it lost part of its territory to the Diocese of Acarigua-Araure .
