history

Pope Pius XI founded the Apostolic Prefecture Alto Orinoco on February 5, 1932 from cessions of territory from the Archdiocese of Ciudad Bolívar . On May 7, 1953, she was raised to the Apostolic Vicariate of Ayacucho.
