The Bistum Cabimas ( lat. : Dioecesis Cabimensis ) is an in Venezuela preferred Roman Catholic diocese based in Cabimas .

history

The diocese Cabimas was on July 23, 1965 by Pope Paul VI. established with the Apostolic Constitution Christianae familiae from cessions of territory of the diocese of Maracaibo . On July 7, 1994, the Diocese of Cabimas gave up parts of its territory to establish the Diocese of El Vigía-San Carlos del Zulia .

It was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Maracaibo as a suffragan .
