Roberto Lückert León

Roberto Lückert León (born December 9, 1939 in Maracaibo , Venezuela ) is a Venezuelan clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Archbishop of Coro .

Life

Roberto Lückert León was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of Maracaibo on August 14, 1966 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Cabimas on April 27, 1985 . He was ordained episcopal on June 29th of the same year by the Archbishop of Maracaibo, Domingo Roa Pérez . Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Cumaná , Mariano José Parra León , and Baltazar Enrique Porras Cardozo , auxiliary bishop in Mérida .

He was appointed Bishop of Coro on July 21, 1993 and was introduced to the office on October 2 of the same year. With the elevation of the diocese of Coro to the archbishopric on November 23, 1998, Roberto Lückert Leon was appointed its first archbishop.

From February 2014 to August 2016 he was Apostolic Administrator of Punto Fijo during the Sedis vacancy . He was also Vice-President of the Bishops' Conference of Venezuela.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on October 25, 2016.
