The Diocese of Machiques ( lat. : Dioecesis Machiquesensis ) is in Venezuela situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Machiques .
history
Pope Pius XII founded the Apostolic Vicariate Machiques on May 26, 1943 from cessions of territory from the diocese of Zulia . On April 9, 2011, it was raised to the rank of diocese, which was also subordinated to the Archdiocese of Maracaibo as a suffragan diocese.
