The telecommunications tower Weiden is a 118 meter high telecommunications tower of the Telekom subsidiary Deutsche Funkturm , which was built in the autumn of 1966. It is located on the Geissleite , a 636 meter high mountain in the Upper Palatinate Forest , in the district of Theisseil five kilometers east of the city of Weiden in the Upper Palatinate .

From here, pastures in the Upper Palatinate, Altenstadt an der Waldnaab and the surrounding areas are supplied with radio programs.

Analog television (PAL)

Before the switch to digital antenna television "DVB-T", the broadcasting location was used for analog television for the greater Weiden area. Since the DVB-T changeover at the Rotbühl (Hirschau) and Ochsenkopf transmitters, television has no longer been broadcast. Before the switch to DVB-T, ZDF (Kanal 37), Bayerisches Fernsehen (Kanal 43) were received by the Rotbühl broadcaster and ARD (Kanal 04) by the Ochsenkopf broadcaster and distributed (implemented) on the following channels:
