Ferruccio Ranza

Ferruccio Ranza (born September 9, 1892 in Fiorenzuola d'Arda , Piacenza province , † April 25, 1973 in Bologna ) was an Italian fighter pilot of the First World War .

Military career

Ranza was a pioneer officer when he was transferred to the air force in 1915. After completing his pilot training , he first came to a reconnaissance squadron. From 1916 he served in the squadron of Fulco Ruffo di Calabria , whom he temporarily represented as a squadron captain . Ranza has been confirmed 17 personal aerial victories. Shortly before the end of the war, Ranza took over command of the highly decorated 91st Ruffo di Calabria hunting squadron.

After the war, Ferruccio Ranza stayed with the Italian Air Force, which was created as a military service in 1923 . He commanded squadrons and an air corps. He resigned from active service in January 1945 as a three-star general.
