Fetească Muskatnaia

The white grape variety Fetească Muskatnaia is a new breed from 1934 from a cross between the grape varieties Fetească Albă and Muscat Ottonel.

The variety has been grown in Moldova and Georgia since the 1950s . The variety, which ripens in Moldova around the end of September, produces berries with a light nutmeg aroma.

Ampelographic varietal characteristics

In ampelography , the habitus is described as follows:

  • The conical to cylindrical grape is medium-sized and moderately dense. The round berries are medium-sized and whitish in color.

In direct comparison, the grape variety ripens almost 20 days after the Gutedel . It is therefore considered to ripen early. Fetească Muskatnaia is a variety of the noble grapevine ( Vitis vinifera ).
