The Chemnitz fire brigade is an authority of the city of Chemnitz and is formed by the professional fire brigade and the volunteer fire brigades of the city of Chemnitz, Saxony . In addition, the city's rescue service is provided together with the German Red Cross and the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund . The ambulance service is run by the Rescue Association Chemnitz / Erzgebirge.

The Chemnitz fire brigade maintains 3 fire stations and 15 fire stations of the volunteer fire brigade, which are also known as district fire brigades. Each of the volunteer fire brigades has its own youth fire brigade, all of which are organized in the city youth fire brigade.
