history

The church stands in a fortified complex with a wall and a Gothic gate system. A pilgrimage has been mentioned since the middle of the 14th century. The gothic hall church has been redesigned in Baroque style. The baroque extension of the tower was carried out with the architect Raimund Jeblinger (1885).

architecture

The two-aisled four-bay nave, half a bay each in the west and east, is closed by a retracted two-bay choir with a three-eighth end. The ribs were removed from the originally Gothic vaults and rich stucco was given by Johann Michael Vierthaler (around 1720). The frescoes at the same time were spoiled during a restoration. There are round columns and baroque windows. The four-axis, twice-broken west gallery with a keel arch has a star rib vault. The slender Gothic half-recessed west tower received a baroque eight-sided bell chamber and wears an onion helmet with a point from 1885. The sacristy door has a richly carved door from the beginning of the 18th century.

Furnishing

The splendid high altar with rich decorative and figural decoration by an unknown master, emergency name Meister von St. Florian bei Helpfau , has the signature IPM 1672 on the back , which is in the style between the Zürn family of sculptors and Thomas Schwanthaler . The structure was built in a workshop in Mattighofen , compare the Aschau branch church (Feldkirchen) , the Eggelsberg parish church and the Erlach parish church in Simbach am Inn in Lower Bavaria. Next to the high altar is a light-bearing marble angel from the 18th century. The choir and church chairs were built around 1730.

The side altars were built after 1670, the paintings were made by Tobias Schinagl from Burghausen (1677).

The organ from the third quarter of the 17th century shows wing paintings from the construction period. There is a bell train around 1700.
