Filial church St. Radegund

The Roman Catholic branch church of St. Radegund in the municipality of Ruden belongs to the Gorentschach parish . The church was first mentioned in 1213 on the occasion of a dispute between the St. Paul monastery in Lavanttal and the Völkermarkt archdeacon .

Building description

The baroque church was built in 1668 under Abbot Rottenhäusler over an older complex. The west tower, adorned with glare fields, is crowned by an eight-sided pointed helmet. Vinzenz Gollner cast a bell in 1828.

The barrel vault with stitch caps in the two-bay nave is reinforced by ridges. A round arched triumphal arch connects the nave and the single -yoke groin - vaulted choir with a three-eighth end. The scenic paintings on the shield walls of the choir were created in 1907.

Facility

The high altar with sacrificial portals dates from the first quarter of the 18th century. The altar bears the figure of St. Radegundis on the main floor and that of St. Oswald on the gable . On the right side altar from the middle of the 18th century there is a statue of St. Anthony . The pulpit from the second quarter of the 18th century is painted on the parapets with depictions of the four evangelists .
