The church Vierzehn Nothelfer in Pickelbach is the Roman Catholic branch church of the cadastral parish Petersdorf II of the parish of Sankt Marein near Graz in Styria . Its history goes back to the first half of the 16th century.

history

The church was dedicated to the parish church of Sankt Marein bei Graz and St. Nicholas in 1545 . Between 1650 and 1660 it was rebuilt while retaining the choir and consecrated to the Fourteen Holy Helpers . A restoration took place in 1979. Today it is a branch of the parish of St. Marein .

A small, octagonal tower is enthroned on the west facade from the 17th century . A statue of St. Nicholas from the time of the church renovation stands above the entrance portal.

The three-bay nave is spanned by a groin vault, which rests on pilasters and belt arches . The vaults and pilasters are decorated with sparse stucco . The choir from the first third of the 16th century with a five-eighth end and a warped, grooved pointed arch window has moved a little off axis.

The high altar was built in 1662 and has a renewed wall structure with an altar sheet of the fourteen helpers in need . The two neo-Gothic side altars date from the second half of the 18th century and show Saint Florian and Saint Barbara . There is also a figure of St. Roch in the church . Like the tabernacle, this figure dates from the second half of the 18th century. The small organ dates from the 17th century.
