Filou is a four-piece pop-rock band from Vienna based around the Austrian writer Lukas Meschik .

history

Filou began in 2007 as a German-language music project by Lukas Meschik, Kasper Dziurdz and Christoph Kornauth with changing names and with changing line-up. In 2011 the debut album Show was released , recorded by Patrick Sischka. In 2012, long-time drummer Gerhard Bergauer was replaced by Robin Prischink. The band still exists with this line-up today. In 2013 the follow-up album Vor und nach der Stille , recorded by Alex Tomann, was released, and in 2016 the album Feste Farben . All albums were released by the Viennese label Problembär Records , which has been a major source of inspiration for German-language pop music since its inception with acts such as Wanda , Das Trojanische Pferd or Der Nino from Vienna . In addition to regular concerts in clubs in Vienna, Filou is increasingly traveling to the surrounding federal states and Germany.

style

Musically Filou can be assigned to pop , with influences from rock / alternative . The sometimes quite text-heavy songs deal with topics such as unfulfilled love, friction with society and its norms or the lifestyle of the big city. The strong literary references are often emphasized in meetings and interviews.
