Finette Agyapong (born February 1, 1997 in London ) is a British sprinter who specializes in the 200-meter run .

Athletic career

Finette Agyapong gained her first international experience at the U20 World Championships in 2016 in Bydgoszcz , Poland , where she finished seventh in the 200-meter run in 23.74 s. In addition, she did not finish with the British 4 x 100 meter relay in the lead. The following year she won the U23 European Championships there in 22.87 s and did not finish in the first round of the relay again. In 2018 she took part in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast for the first time and reached the semi-finals there, where she was eliminated with 23.38 seconds. In addition, she came fourth with the English 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 27.21 minutes. At the European Championships in Berlin , she contributed to winning the bronze medal through her work in the run-up to the 4 x 400 meter relay.

At the IAAF World Relays 2019 in Yokohama , she was eliminated in the mixed relay in 3: 20.49 minutes in advance and then she won the U23 European Championships in Gävle with the 4 x 400 meter relay in 3:32 , 91 min the silver medal behind the Polish team.

In 2017 and 2018 Agyapong became British indoor champion in the 200-meter run. She is a student at Brunel University in London.
