Finnbjörn Þorvaldsson

Finnbjörn Þorvaldsson (born May 25, 1924 in Hnífsdalur ; † July 9, 2018 ) was an Icelandic sprinter and long jumper .

At the European Athletics Championships in Oslo in 1946 , he was sixth over 100 m and reached the semi-finals over 200 m .

In 1948 he was eliminated from the Olympic Games in London over 100 m , in the long jump and in the 4 x 100 meter relay in the first round.

At the Euro 1950 in Brussels, he reached the semi-finals over 100 m and came in fifth place in the 4 x 100 meter relay .
