Finstermühle (Pleystein)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Today the Finstermühle is part of the Upper Palatinate town of Pleystein in the Neustadt an der Waldnaab district ; Here there used to be an iron hammer , also called Hammer Spielberg , and a mill . The work was driven by the water of the Pfreimd .

history

Originally there was an ironworks and a mill here, which in 1456 are still described as passable. The Hammer Spielberg got its name from the neighboring hamlet of Spielberg bei den Weihern , today's playground . Probably at the turn of the 15th to the 16th century, desertification should have started; The hammer no longer existed in 1531, because in a letter of inheritance from that year, hammer master Eschenweck was given two sinter heaps for an annual interest rate of 20 fl , one of which came from the deserted hammer Premhof and the other from hammer Spielberg.

In 1562 the Treswitz keeper ordered the mill to be rebuilt and gave Peter Schott a letter of inheritance about it. But not until 1583 is it reported that the Schottenmühle was rebuilt a few years ago.

In 1808, Anton Sichert owned the property, which has since been known as the Sicherthof . In the cadastre of 1843 is named as owner Nikolaus Sauer, in which case a mill with millstones and Radstube and a Muehl justice exist. Around 1980 the owner of the Finster or Schottenmühle was a Max Weig.
