history

The company was founded in 1850 by Innocenzo Fiorucci. Fiorucci, who comes from Norcia in the Umbria region , took the meat products tradition of his home region with him to Rome and ran a small business there. The activities increased steadily over time, so that in addition to the actual production operation, smaller shops were also opened. The male descendants of the Fiorucci family, like many of their compatriots, led a life that was characterized by seasonal effects. They spent the summer months in their home in Umbria, while they went to Rome for the winter.

After the Second World War , the company resumed its operations under the management of Cesare Fiorucci. In the 1970s, activities were also expanded to northern Italy . International expansion followed in the 1980s with the establishment of the first sales companies in England, France and Germany and the opening of a production facility in the United States.

Since 2011, Fiorucci has been part of the Spanish meat company Campofrío Food Group , in which the US company Smithfield Foods holds large shares.
