In cooperation with the German music producer Axel Breit , Radio Schleswig-Holstein designed Fix & Ready in 1988, initially as a parody of the then successful song Der blonde Hans from the music project Hannes Kröger by producers Peter Hoffmann and Franz Plasa . Members of the music group were Axel Breiten and the former pop singer Gerd Leienbach , who took over the vocal part.

While the original song, which used language samples from the film Große Freiheit No. 7 with Hans Albers , is about the seaman Hannes Kröger, known as "the blonde Hans from the Reeperbahn", there is the parody of the ticket inspector Hans Kuckuck ("Ich bin Sehmann, damn it.
