Fjällbacka is a small town ( tätort ) in the Swedish province of County of Västra Götaland and the historical province of Bohuslän . The place in the municipality of Tanum is located at Riksväg 163, about 130 kilometers north of Gothenburg and about 25 kilometers from the Norwegian border.
Fjällbacka is one of the most popular tourist spots on the Swedish west coast, because the steep walls of the Vetteberg rise almost vertically directly behind the last houses. The Kungsklyfta rift , where parts of the film Ronja the Robber's Daughter were filmed , runs through the Vetteberg . The fishing village was known early on as a seaside resort.
