Fjällbacka is one of the most popular tourist spots on the Swedish west coast, because the steep walls of the Vetteberg rise almost vertically directly behind the last houses. The Kungsklyfta rift , where parts of the film Ronja the Robber's Daughter were filmed , runs through the Vetteberg . The fishing village was known early on as a seaside resort.

Personalities

Ingrid Bergman regularly went on vacation to the island of Danholmen off Fjällbacka. After her death, her ashes were scattered there at sea. In her honor, the main square by the harbor is now called Ingrid Bergmans Torg ; there is also the monument erected in 1983 with a bust by the sculptor Gudmar Olofsson.

The writer Camilla Läckberg was born in Fjällbacka. Her detective novels also take place in the area where she was born.
