Fkih Ben Salah ( Arabic الفقيه بن صالح; Moroccan Tamazight ⴼⵇⵉⵀ ⴱⴻⵏ ⵚⴰⵍⴻⵃ Fqih Ben Saleh ) is a Moroccan city with about 110,000 inhabitants in the same province in the region of Beni Mellal-Khénifra .
Toponym
The old name of the place or its surrounding area was Beni Amir . The renaming took place in honor of the marabout Wali Salih, who is revered here .
Location and climate
Fkih Ben Salah is located in the west of the Tadla plain between the cities of Béni Mellal in the southeast and Khouribga in the northwest at an altitude of about 440 m . The climate is warm; Rain (approx. 485 mm / year) falls almost without exception in the winter months.

The city's population consists almost exclusively of members of various Berber tribes from the area. Most of them have immigrated since the 1970s - because of the lack of rain in their home villages, but also for socio-cultural reasons (hope for work, improvement in material living conditions and health care, better opportunities for schooling for children, etc.).
economy
Agriculture in the surrounding villages still forms the basis of all economic activity. Craftsmen, traders and service providers of all kinds (doctors, schools, banks, etc.) have settled in the city itself. There are also two large dairies.
history
At the beginning of the 20th century there was only a small market town with around 3,000 inhabitants. This was in the historical territory of the Arab-born tribe of the Beni Amir ; a part of the place was also in the hands of the south bordering tribe of the Beni Moussa . Fkih Ben Salah has been part of the newly created Béni Mellal-Khénifra region since 2015 .
