Flash Forward is a German band from the Ruhr area founded in 2010 . Their style of music can be classified in the field of alternative rock .

history

In 2011 the band released their first album Games, Cheats & Fakes without a label or distribution. In 2013 the band signed a record deal with Redfield Records . Her debut album was re-released in 2013 via Redfield Digital. At the end of 2013 they won the Local Heroes band competition in North Rhine-Westphalia. However, the 2013 federal final was won by the band Schmutzki . For this, drummer Tino Wilczewski won the “Best Instrumentalist of the Year” award.

On March 7, 2014, the second album Apollon was released . The album was produced by Flo Nowak ( 5BUGS ) in the Dailyhero Studio, Berlin . They financed their headlining tour through Germany, together with Fox Named King 2014, through the crowdfunding platform Startnext . On April 7, 2014, a music video for Far Away from Home was released .

The band recorded their third album Who We Are , which was released on March 18, 2016 via Redfield Records , with guitarist Florian Blaswich. He left the band in early 2017. The band then recorded the following album as a trio. Revolt was published on 24 November 2017 at the indie label Uncle M . Guitarist Gerrit Kühne had supported the band in live performances since Florian Blaswich left. He has been a permanent member of the band since 2018.

Music genre

At the beginning of their career the band played mostly pop-punk . With the second album Apollon , named after the Greek deity of the same name, the style gave way to a harder, more mature and varied style that can be described as alternative rock. The texts are of a personal nature and deal with topics such as self-doubt, betrayal and loneliness, but also courage and zest for life. Musically, Jimmy Eat World , Biffy Clyro and Fall Out Boy were the godfathers.
