Flavia Caviezel (* 1964 in Chur ) is a Swiss ethnologist , videastist and senior researcher as well as lecturer at the FHNW Basel University of Art and Design . She moves in the field of artistic research . Caviezel lives in Zurich and works in Zurich and Basel.

education

Flavia Caviezel studied visual ethnology , film studies and constitutional law at the University of Bern and the University of Zurich . She graduated in 1995 with the project Like owning a leaking boat - representation and power in documentary and ethnographic film, including the video work 'dreimalalpen'. She also took video courses at the Bern School of Design .

Scientific and artistic activity

From 1986 to 1996 she was the bass player in the rock band Flieger conquer the world . After completing her studies, Caviezel worked from 2004 to 2006 at the Zurich University of the Arts . Caviezel has been a senior researcher and lecturer at the Institute for Experimental Design and Media Cultures (IXDM) at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland FHNW since 2007 .
