history

Surname

The Fleetrade was named after the old Fleet as a watercourse, whereby the Low German syllable Trade stands for way.

development

The village of Herstede was first mentioned in 1226. It belonged to the Archbishopric and Duchy of Bremen , in the 15th century to the Gografschaft Achim and in 1649 to the Duchy of Bremen . Hastedt has been a rural municipality of Bremen since 1803 and was incorporated into the city of Bremen in 1902.

The first houses were built in the northern area. As a result of the great breach of the dike in 1830, the Osterdeich (1850 to 1893) was created as a flood protection and road connection. The southern floodplain could now also be settled.

In 1812 Hastedt had 756 inhabitants, in 1855 there were 4525, at the turn of the century, when many houses were built on this street, there were over 7000 and today (2017) 10,645

traffic

A horse-drawn tram was built in 1879 and electrified in 1900. The route has not changed much since 1911: Line 2 runs to Sebaldsbrück, Line 3 runs in parallel to the Hohwisch depot, and in 1939 it was extended by Fleetrade to the new Weserwehr terminal.

The Bremen tram runs through the street with line 3 (Gröpelingen - Weserwehr).

In local transport in Bremen, bus lines 40 and 41 ( Mahndorf ↔ Weserwehr) and 42 (industrial park Hansalinie ↔ Weserwehr) touch the street at the terminus and turning point of line 3.
