Florence Goodenough

Florence Laura Goodenough (born August 6, 1886 in Honesdale , Pennsylvania , † April 4, 1959 in Lakeland , Florida ) was an American psychologist who, among other things, dealt with intelligence tests for children ( Goodenough Draw-A-Man Test ) based on the assessment of drawings.

Life

Goodenough studied at Columbia University a . a. with Leta Hollingworth (1886-1939) and was able to successfully complete an MA in 1921 . In 1924 she received her doctorate from Stanford University . In 1931 she became a professor at the University of Minnesota .

Florence Goodenough died on April 4, 1959 of complications from a stroke .

During her academic life, Goodenough published nine books and 26 articles in various journals.
