Florencio Amarilla Lacasa (born January 3, 1935 in Coronel Bogado , † August 25, 2012 in Vélez-Rubio , Spain ) was a Paraguayan football player and actor .
Life
Amarilla began his sporting career as a football striker in his home country at Club Nacional . As a participant in the 1958 World Cup , Amarilla, who is just 1.69 m tall, was not only noticed as a double goal scorer - he had already scored three times in the qualifying matches - and was awarded a contract with Spanish first division club Real Oviedo . In 1961 he moved to FC Elche , where he was only used twice. Five years later he laced his shoes again: In the 1967/68 season he played for CD Almería .
After his football career, he lived in the area around Almería, where film producers gave him smaller roles in the films shot there, especially spaghetti westerns, in which he portrayed Mexicans or Indian characters. From the mid-1970s he also coached several teams in the region. A serious illness and a heart attack prevented him from continuing to work as a coach; on December 27, 2009 he was honored for his commitment at the Estadio Juan Rojas in Almería.
