Florencio Caffaratti Chisalvo (born May 3, 1915 in El Trébol, Santa Fe , Argentina ; † September 15, 2001 in Toluca , Mexico ) was an Argentine football player who acted in attacking midfield or in attack and worked as a coach after his active career was.

Caffaratti began his career in the youth division of his home club Trebolense and moved to Newell's Old Boys in 1936 and a year later to CA Vélez Sársfield , for whom he played a total of 49 games between 1937 and 1939 and scored 41 goals. He then moved to CA River Plate before he worked for CA Banfield from 1940 to 1943 .

His footballing qualities were known far beyond Argentina, so that when the Mexican Pfofiliga was introduced at the beginning of the 1943/44 season , he was obliged by the capital club Club America , for which he was under contract for a total of four seasons until the end of the 1946/47 season.

Before the start of the 1947/48 season, he moved to FC Barcelona in the Spanish league , where he only played five games but scored six goals. At the end of the season there was also the win of the Spanish football championship as in the following season 1948/49 , in which Caffaratti completed nine games and scored one goal.

In 1949, Caffaretti decided to return to Mexico, where he played again in the next few years at Club America as well as Real Club España and San Sebastián de León .

Trainer

After his active career, Caffaratti worked as a coach in Mexico and led Club Celaya at the end of the 1957/58 season to win the second division championship and the associated promotion to the first division. He also trained the CD Veracruz and the CF Atlante .
