Burmeister played with SG Schorndorf until the C-youth . From the B-youth he played for the TVB 1898 Stuttgart .

Burmeister was a member of the 2nd team of the TVB in the Baden-Württemberg Oberliga . In the 1st team of the TVB he was used in the Bundesliga for the first time in a catch-up game on the 21st match day of the 2016/17 season against the Rhein-Neckar Löwen .

For the 2017/18 season , the TVB announced in April 2017 that Burmeister would be included in the first team's squad. In the away game against TBV Lemgo , he scored his first Bundesliga goal on October 1, 2017.

For the 2019/20 season, Burmeister has joined the third division HG Oftersheim / Schwetzingen .

He holds the position as a left backcourt player .

His father Heiko Burmeister was also a handball player and is now active as a coach.
