Florian Kindle (composer)
Florian Kindle (also Florin Kindle , born December 22, 1838 in Triesen , † December 18, 1909 in Oberstaufen , Bavaria ) was a Liechtenstein priest and composer.
biography
Florin Kindle grew up as one of thirteen children in Triesen and attended grammar schools in Feldkirch , Einsiedeln and Schwyz from 1853 to 1862 . He then studied philosophy and theology in Schwyz and Chur and was ordained a priest in 1865. Kindle was active as a pastor in Switzerland throughout his life . In 1906 he retired and lived in Oberstaufen in Bavaria until his death.
In his function as chaplain and vicar, Kindle campaigned for church music , folk singing and brass music . As early as 1862 he was a co-founder of the Triesen Music Society and until 1872 wrote a score collection for it with 56 arrangements of dances, concert pieces and hymns - most of them for wind instruments, some for clarinet, flugelhorn and violoncello. He was also involved in founding brass bands in Mauren in 1870 and in Eschen in 1882 . A Te Deum for choir and wind instruments has been preserved from his own compositions .
