Flozell Jootin Adams (born May 18, 1975 in Chicago , Illinois ), nickname : The Hotel is an American former American football player on the position of offensive tackles . He played for the Dallas Cowboys and the Pittsburgh Steelers in the National Football League (NFL) from 1998 to 2010 .

High school and college

Adams played American football at Proviso West High School in Hillside , Illinois. He also showed excellent performance in other sports, such as wrestling . In both wrestling and football, he was elected to the Illinois selection team. After graduating from high school, he studied at Michigan State University . He was able to move into three bowl games with his team . However, all games were lost. Also on the College Adams became the All American selected and received an award for the best offensive lineman of his league.

NFL

In the 1998 NFL Draft , the 200 cm tall and 154 kg heavy offensive tackle was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the second round in 38th place. In the very first season he was able to establish himself as a starter under Head Coach Chan Gailey . During his playing time in Dallas , he was elected five times in the Pro Bowl , the final game of the best players of the season. In 2005 his career took a significant setback. He suffered a serious injury on the sixth day of a game against the New York Giants and had to sit out the rest of the season. In 2006 he recovered and moved with his team into the play-offs , where they were eliminated early. In 2008 he received a six-year contract from the owner of the Cowboys, Jerry Jones , in which he was guaranteed a salary of approximately 42 million US dollars . In 2009, Adams was fined $ 12,500 by the NFL for unfairly fouling two New York Giants opponents in a home game. Adams has been the second most penalized player in the entire NFL as of 2005 (67). On April 2, 2010, Adams was released by the Cowboys. On July 29, 2010, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Adams agreed on a two-year contract. In the Steelers, he replaced the right tackle Willie Colon , who had to sit out injured the entire season. Adams managed to move into the AFC Championship Game with his team , where the New York Jets were beaten 24:19. The subsequent Super Bowl XLV was lost against the Green Bay Packers with 31:25. After the season, Adams was released again.
