It is located about ten kilometers northwest of the capital Ashgabat on the outskirts and has only one check-in hall. There are two runways , each 3800 meters long, both of which are equipped with the instrument landing system (ILS). In addition, a VOR / DME approach using the "Ashgabat" radio beacon (identification ASB, frequency 114.5 MHz) and an NDB approach (GH, frequency 320 kHz) are available for runways 12L / 30R .
