The Bata Airport ( IATA : BSG , ICAO : FGBT ) after the airports Malabo and Mongomeyen the third largest airport in Equatorial Guinea .

The airport is located approximately seven kilometers northeast of Bata and approximately four kilometers south of Utonde . The 3.3 km long slope is only operated during the day when visibility is good. The state-owned airline and four private airlines represent Bata's largest branch of industry. In addition to the route to the capital Malabo , Annobón and Mongomo are also served on domestic destinations . The airport is big enough to handle a Boeing 737 . In 2001, 15,000 passengers were handled. In July 2002, all airport personnel were arrested for boarding a flight to Gabon by a leader of the Popular Union, an opposition party . The tower frequency is 118.800 MHz ( VHF ).
