CEIBA Intercontinental is the national airline of Equatorial Guinea based in Malabo and based at Malabo Airport .

history

CEIBA Intercontinental was founded in 2007 as the successor company to Ecuato Guineana de Aviacion . Like all airlines in the country, it is currently on the list of operating bans for the airspace of the European Union . The Boeing 777-200LR operated by Portuguese White Airways and a Boeing 737-800 are exempt from this ban . The airline's CEO is Santiago Nsobeya Efuman Nchama , a Minister for the Government of Equatorial Guinea.

Destinations

CEIBA Intercontinental operates domestic flights between the capital Malabo on the island of Bioko and Bata on the mainland. There are also regional destinations such as Douala in Cameroon and Bangui in the Central African Republic .

Incidents

On September 5, 2015, a CEIBA Intercontinental Boeing 737-800 on Flight 71 collided in the air with an ambulance aircraft . The 737 landed safely, the ambulance plane crashed. All inmates in this one perished.
