The leshukonskoye Airport ( Russian Аэропорт Лешуконское , scientific. Transliteration Aéroport Lešukonskoe ) is a regional passenger airport in the Russian Arkhangelsk Oblast . It is located about one kilometer west of the eponymous village Leschukonskoye .
history
The airport was opened on February 5, 1932 and initially served the routes to Arkhangelsk and Ust-Zilma . In the years 1941 to 1942 the runway was expanded and a two-story wooden service and check-in building was built.
1974 was United Leschukonskojer Squadron (LOAE) ( Лешуконская объединённая авиаэскадрилья, ЛОАЭ ) as part of the Arkhangelsk Administration of Civil Aviation ( Архангельское управление гражданской авиации founded), which from now on for the operation of all airports Leschukonski , Mesenski and rayon Pineschski was responsible. The LOAE was based at Leschukonskoye Airport and had its own Antonov An-2 fleet . In the course of the airport expansion and modernization at the end of the 1970s, the service and check-in building was renewed. In addition, maintenance of the aircraft was now possible. In 1979 a new runway was built, on which the larger passenger and transport aircraft such as An-24 , An-26 , An-28 , Jakowlew Jak-40 and Let L-410 could be served. In 1981 the LOAE was converted to the United Leschukonskojer Aviation Department (LOAO) (Лешуконский объединенный авиаотряд, ЛОАО). In addition to the transport of passengers, the airport was used at that time as a base for fighting forest fires and for agricultural aircraft, for supplying geologists and for emergency medical care.
After the fall of the Soviet Union, the LOAO was dissolved in 1992. After several reorganizations and changes of operator, the airport has been operated by the Open Joint Stock Company Aeroport Leschukonskoje ( ОАО "Аэропорт Лешуконское " ) since 2005 .
