The Temuco airport (actually: Aeropuerto Internacional La Araucanía) is a Chilean airport , the south about 21 km of the town Temuco in the Araucanía Region is located. The airport is the largest in the region and was only opened in 2014.

Incidents
- On April 3, 1961, a Douglas DC-3C of LAN Chile ( aircraft registration CC-CLDP) flew from Temuco Airport to Santiago de Chile in the La Gotera hill in the Andes . All 24 people on board were killed. The wreck of the machine was found on April 10, 1961. The fuselage was discovered in February 2015 (see also LAN Chile flight 210 ) .
