The airfield diving is located northeast of the Saxon town of diving , on the northeast edge of Leipzig . It was founded in 1928 as a glider airfield . It has been approved as a special landing site since the 1990s . In addition to regular glider operations , powered aircraft and ultralight aircraft also use the airfield.
