The airfield Löbnitz-Roitzschjora is an airfield near Löbnitz . The Air Force of the Armed Forces used it from 1938 to 1945 as a military airfield Löbnitz .

history

The air base was established between 1938 and 1939. Only small barracks were built northwest of the take-off and landing area with a grassy surface. Although the air base was classified as a port of operations, it was not occupied with an active flying unit until October 1944, when Group II of Jagdgeschwader 300 with its Focke-Wulf Fw 190 A was relocated here. In April 1945 there was also the III. Group of Jagdgeschwader 4 , equipped with Messerschmitt Bf 109 G / K, here.

After the end of the Second World War , a GST airfield , a reserve airfield for the Soviet armed forces and the NVA helipad 6029 were located here until the 1990s. The airfield was regularly used for maneuvers by the Soviet armed forces with interceptors such as the MiG-21 and various transport aircraft instead of.

Later the Fliegerclub Roitzschjora e. V. the place. From 1999 to 2016 the With Full Force Festival took place here every July .
