Follia d'amore is a song by the Italian jazz musician Raphael Gualazzi . Under the English title Madness of Love , he took part in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 and took second place behind the winners from Azerbaijan.

Follia d'amore was written by Raphael Gualazzi as a stride piano song. It contains elements of swing , rhythm and blues and soul . The song was produced by Ferdinando Arnò . On February 18, 2011, Raphael Gualazzi won the newcomer category of the Sanremo Festival with the title . Shortly afterwards he was selected as a participant for Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in Düsseldorf.
Italy returned to the Eurovision Song Contest after 13 years of abstinence and immediately took second place in the final with the English-Italian version Madness of Love with 189 points, behind the winning entry from Azerbaijan . Before the last ranking, Italy was still in third place, but with 12 points from Latvia they were able to overtake the Swedish contribution. Italy was the fifth member of the Big Five , the largest donor, to automatically qualify for the finals.
