The Foraker River is a 97 km long river in Alaska, USA.
The source of the Foraker River is located below the glacier tongue of the Foraker Glacier on the northwest flank of the Alaska Range . The Foraker River flows in a predominantly north-northwest direction through the Tanana-Kuskokwim Plain . The nameless outflow of the Straightaway Glacier flows into the river from the right and the Herron River from the left. South of Lake Minchumina , the river splits into a network of canals. Over the years the river has changed its course here again and again. Some of the water flows into the lake via several river arms, while another part flows directly into its drain, the Muddy River . Due to the melting of snow on the glaciers, the river carries the largest amounts of water in the summer months. The upper half of the river is within Denali National Park . The rest of the river, with the exception of the estuary, lies within the Denali National Preserve .
