The Fortuna is a ship without its own propulsion system that is used as a pipelayer .

description

The Fortuna was delivered in 2010 by Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries (ZPMC). Instead of dynamic positioning , the ship is moved using twelve anchor winches . The anchors, each weighing 20 t, are laid by anchor-pulling tugs .

What is striking about this pipelayer is the large ship crane from ZPMC with a load capacity of 1600 t. Furthermore, a 250-t derrick by Kobelco and a 40-ton crane Liebherr the equipment. The deck structure houses the accommodations for 310 people and the helicopter landing deck above . The energy supply is ensured by four diesel generators with an output of 2500 kW each.

commitment

After the sanctions imposed on the construction of Nord Stream 2 on December 20, 2019 , Allseas immediately withdrew its pipe layers. The remaining 160 km of the gas pipeline are now to be laid by Akademik Cherskiy and Fortuna .
