Fortunat von Schubert-Soldern (born May 2, 1867 in Paris , † March 20, 1953 in Vienna ) was an Austrian art historian .

Fortunat Schubert-Soldern was the son of the painter and writer Victor Schubert von Soldern (1834–1912). He first studied law at the University of Prague, where he received his doctorate in 1893. jur. received his doctorate , after which he worked as a financial procurator in Vienna. From 1897 he studied art history at the University of Vienna with Alois Riegl , then at the University of Strasbourg , where he was awarded a Dr. phil. received his doctorate. From 1897 to 1913 was the director of the Dresden copper engraving collection . In 1913 he became head of the Art History Department of the Central Commission for Research and Conservation of Art and Historical Monuments in Vienna , from 1917 he was head of the Central Commission, and from 1928 until his retirement in 1931 he was President of the Federal Monuments Office that emerged from the Central Commission.

His son was the zoologist Rainer Schubert-Soldern (1900–1974).
