The Fotzenkarstange is a mountain in the Ötztal Alps in the Austrian state of Tyrol at an altitude of 3,024  m above sea level. A. (3021 m is also given).

Location and surroundings

The Fotzenkarstange is 1.8 km southeast of the Hohe Geige on the east side of the Geigenkamm . The Pirchelkarferner lies on the northern slope of the Fotzenkarstange. To the east, the Fotzenkar extends between the Vorderen Ampferkogel (2909 m) and the Legerkogel (2844 m) and extends into the Pollestal. The next place is Hochsölden , which is 3.3 km east-south-east from the summit of Fotzenkarstange.

The Fotzenkarstange can be reached via the Pollestal on the Pollesbach - a tributary of the Ötztaler Ache . From the Pollesalm you leave the path in the direction of Pirchlbach and then you can climb the Fotzenkarstange via the Pirchlkar.
