Franconian Alb Association

The Franconian Alb Association e. V. (FAV) (full name Fränkischer Albverein e.V. Federation for Hiking, Homeland Care and Nature Conservation ) is a non-profit association for hiking, homeland care and nature conservation. It was founded in Nuremberg in 1914 and has around 4,000 members through its local groups. It has its seat in Nuremberg, where it is also entered in the register of associations of the local court there (VR 257). He offers guided hikes , marks and maintains hiking trails primarily in the Franconian Alb in Franconia . The supervised network of trails is over 6,500 km long and consists of over 200 hiking trails. The hiking trails are between 1.5 and 250 km long. In addition to its own paths, the FAV also maintains and supports local hiking trails in communities in the Franconian Alb.

history

The FAV was founded on May 15, 1914 in Nuremberg. On July 1, 2017, the Nuremberg branch, which made up around 40% of the 4,000 members, split off from the Franconian Alb Association after a dispute.
