Frédéric Assomption Korsaga

Frédéric Assomption Korsaga (born August 14, 1951 in Koudougou ) is a diplomat and politician of the Republic of Burkina Faso .

Education

He attended the Lycée technique d'Abidjan ( Ivory Coast ), studied at the Université Cheikh Anta Diop de Dakar ( Senegal ) and at the University of Montpellier . He completed his studies with a master's degree in economics and a master's in business management .

Career

From 1982 to 1983 he was Minister for Transport, Environment and Tourism. In October 1983 he was appointed ambassador to the governments of Ivory Coast and Mali . However, since the war for the Agacher Strip was being fought at that time , he had no opportunity to post his credentials in Bamako . Therefore he resided in Abidjan ( Ivory Coast ) until September 1986 . In 1986 he was Director General of the National Deposit and Investment Fund. In 1987 he was Minister of Consumer Protection (Commerce et de l'Approvisionnement du peuple). In 1990 he became Minister of Planning. In 1991 he became Minister of Finance and Minister of Planning. In 1992 he was President of the Economic and Social Council. From 1992 to 1997 he was ambassador to Paris and accredited to the governments of Madrid , Lisbon and the Holy See . From February 20, 2013 to 2016, he was ambassador to the European Commission . An office to which he is regularly appointed Ambassador to the Court of St James’s , Ambassador to the Belgian, Dutch and Luxembourg Governments, and Representative to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons .
