Frédéric Fauquex

Frédéric Fauquex (born June 26, 1898 in Riex , † July 15, 1976 in Cully , resident in Riex and Lutry ) was a Swiss politician ( LPS ).

After graduating from high school in Burgdorf , he graduated from high school in 1917 and then worked as a wine grower . In 1920 he was municipal secretary of Riex and was in 1926 for mayors elected. He held this office until 1933 and was then again mayor from 1936 to 1947. In 1935 he was elected to the National Council for the canton of Vaud and in 1945 he was elected to the Council of States . In the same year he also took over the presidency of the Liberal Party of the canton of Vaud. After serving as President of the Council of States in 1962, he left the Council of States a year later.

Fauquex presided over various institutions like for example from 1961 the Rhone-Rhein-Schiffahrts-Verband, 1964–1973 the Théâtre du Jorat and the Swiss Film Chamber. In the military he was a major in the artillery .

He was a member of the Société d'Étudiants de Belles-Lettres .
