Fröhden is a district of the Brandenburg town of Jüterbog in Germany .

The place is about 6.5 kilometers southeast of Jüterbog.

history

The first mention of the place was done indirectly through one Lord John of vrouden in 1308. In 1386 mortgaged the lords of Dahme, the Office Jüterbog with the place and continue to broadcast the judiciary, the church patronage . From there, the place came into the possession of the von Klitzing family in 1538 . Another feudal letter has come down to us from 1568. Here the brothers Hieronimus Elias Lippold and Friedrich Tristan von Klitzing received the place from the administrator of the Archbishopric of Magdeburg . In the Thirty Years' War the place fell almost desolate .

Through the Peace of Prague , the place came from the Archbishopric Magdeburg to the Electorate of Saxony . After the death of Elector Johann Georg I in 1657, his second son August received the Duchy of Saxony-Weißenfels and thus Fröhden as an inheritance . After his son Johann Adolf I. led the principality. After the Sachsen-Weißenfels line became extinct in 1764, Fröhden and Jüterbog fell to Kursachsen. The von Klitzing family apparently remained without heirs, so that the bailiff Birkner from Zinna acquired the place in 1797.

After the Congress of Vienna , the place came to the Jüterbog-Luckenwalde district in 1816 . After 1828 the owners changed frequently. The last known landowner was a Mr. Eding, who owned the place until 1855. In the 19th century a manor house was built in the village . It was redesigned in neoclassical forms in 1915 . From 1900 to 1963 the place was on the small railway line Jüterbog - Luckenwalde .

After the Second World War , a machine rental station was built in the manor house , which was converted into a machine and tractor station in 1952. On July 1, 1950, Fröhden was incorporated into Markendorf . In 1956 an LPG was founded, which was merged with the Markendorfer LPG in 1958. The manor house was used by the district farm for agricultural engineering around 1980 and was considerably rebuilt. For example, the main entrance was moved from the south to the north side and a canteen was set up on the ground floor . Since the fall of the Wall , the building has been used as a technology base for farmers. In 1994 a wind turbine was built on the nearby Börnickenberg. Since December 31, 1997, Fröhden has been part of Jüterbog.
