Framestore CFC (also Framestore ) is a British company founded in 1986 specializing in special effects in films , commercials and music videos . In 1997 it was merged with CFC (Computer Film Company) . The head office is in London .

history

Framestore was founded in 1986 by Sharon Reed, William Sargent, Jonathan Hills, Mike McGee and Alison Turner. It was for the first time with computers worked to special effects to create. One began to work out effects for music videos and television films. Framestore won first prizes. In 1994 a special effects department was established.

Merger with CFC

In 1997, Framestore merged with Computer Film Company, one of the first special effects companies. CFC was founded in 1984 by Mike Boudry, Wolfgang Lempp and Neil Harris. Together, the companies have worked on over 200 films.

Awards and Earnings

Framestore and CFC have already won several awards. CFC has already won the Scientific and Technical Academy Award twice. In 2008 Framestore won the first Oscar for the best visual effects in the film The Golden Compass , as well as the BAFTA Award . Oscar nominations for Superman Returns (2007) and The Dark Knight (2009).

Framestore was the first company in Europe to use digital intermediate .
